mama and papa visit

this past weekend, my sweet parents drove down for a long weekend to visit us newlyweds. it was such a wonderful time and as always, went by super quick.

we passed the time with eating yummy food, walking around downtown, shopping, and sitting outside on the front porch in the pretty weather. oh yes...and watching some kentucky basketball (and got to see us win national championship #8!)

a few pictures from our weekend...

it was a perfect few days. i miss them already. come back soon family?

short and sweet

a few weeks ago, my mama and sister went down to FL to visit the grandparents. on their way back, they paid a little visit to me. got here on tuesday night and left on thursday morning. so short but very sweet time spent with two of my favorite people ever.

aren't they beautiful? two fabulous women in my life.

there were many laughs and fun moments. they got to meet new fur baby Kentson. Auntie mo mo fell in love and Kentson recipricated that love right back to her.

look how different K looks before he was groomed and got a summer haircut!

and to top it off, we played with the photobooth feature on morgan's mac. oh yes...this always makes for a good time and laugh til you cry or quite possibly pee your pants moments.

so i might as well share a picture of the group with very beautiful faces.

you're welcome friends. you're welcome.
my family is awesome. and A fits right in. my goodness i am a lucky girl.

florida christmas

hi friends. this is my last christmas post, i promise. i am HORRIBLE at taking pictures. so i had to wait for my mama and sister to send them my way. and i thought you might want to see my family christmas in florida documented in pictures {and yes...A came along for the ride too}. also...get ready for picture overload.

the first night we were there, they had an AMAZING thunderstorm. i love love LOVE storms. so me, A and my sister spent most of the evening out on the front porch watching the storm go by.

we also went on some adventures. marble slab was a must go-to. we have one in SC but there are none in KY. it was good...but i have had better marble slab ice cream. it didn't stop me and A {especially A} from getting really pumped about ice cream.

a beach trip was a must. don't let the pretty sunshine, white sand and beautiful ocean fool you. it was FREEZING. i am talking ears feel like they are going to fall off...i am not walking on sand but it's actually snow cold. but we still had a fun little photo shoot. and we had the gorgeous beach all to ourselves.

this jumping picture might be the only one we got {out of like 20} where my sister actually got her feet up off the sand. her feet were so cold they outright refused to leave the ground. or something like that. anyway, it definitely gave us a lot of laughs.

and morgan suggested we have a little shandy shoot while we were there. this one is my fave. {excuse my crazy bang on top of my head...it was windy}

another thing we did a lot of....puzzles. we are obsessed. we prob did at least 4 or 5. not. kidding.

this last picture needs a little bit of explanation. but it is by far my best memory of florida. i love beyonce's 'single ladies' song. and so my sis decided to do a little dance for us. she had the video up on her phone. we had the music on to match the video perfectly. she did the whole dance and did not hold back. it was beyond fabulous. {she even put on a wife beater and her under armour shorts to match beyonce's leotard. yeah...she is dedicated} i have never laughed so hard in my life. i freaking love my sister.

contrary to what these pictures show, i promise my parents and grandparents were there as well. A, morg, and myself just love hanging out so much that a majority of pictures are just the three of us.

and that was our wonderful, fabulous, magnificent and perfect christmas spent in florida. i wish it had lasted longer. i really love my family...

and i'm back.

hello blogland. i am back from the holiday break and going through blogging withdraws. it has been {gasp} a whole 12 days. dang. that was rough.

even though i was absent from my blog, my little blackberry allowed me to stay up-to-date on all of your blogs out there. i hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing break. i, for one, am not ready to be back working this week. i kicked and screamed the whole way to work on monday morning. not cool. but so is life...

we had a wonderful christmas in florida with my family. it was everything a break should be. low-key and relaxing, with a lot of time spent with family, eating wonderful homemade meals and laughing up a storm. i have pictures to share but alas, they are not on my camera but on my mama's and sisters. so whenever they get around to giving them to me, i promise to share them with you.

i got some wonderful gifts for christmas including ann taylor loft leggings (the addiction continues), some other clothes, some kitchen appliances (so exciting to me who didn't even own a toaster) and other great things. i hope santa treated y'all great as well.

oh how i missed you blogland. i promise to be back soon with some (hopefully) wonderful posts.
it's good to be back friends...it's good to be back.

a sweet little weekend

this weekend was one for the books. i had my second round of apartment visitors and it was so perfect. i absolutely love visitors from kentucky.

this weekend my family came in for a weekend visit. it was so fun. we went out for thai food on friday night. then on saturday i took them downtown to see greenville and saturday night we celebrated my 24th birthday a few days early. my mom made me spaghetti and meatballs (my request) along with one of my favorite cakes ever. its a chocolate chocolate chip cake. homemade. from scratch. beat that.

it was so wonderful. but as always, it went by too fast. it seemed like they had just arrived before i was waving them goodbye on sunday. but i feel incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful family. and i feel even more blessed that they got to come down for the weekend to celebrate. i loved spending each and every second with them.

some pictures of the perfection.

a long weekend

this weekend was full of fun times as A and I took a trip down to the lake. His grandparents live on Lake Murray outside of Columbia and we spent the weekend there. It was so wonderful. I took a nap everyday (love that!), went out on the boat and generally enjoyed being around A's family. His dad, step-mom and little brother came up as well and it was a very enjoyable weekend.

we came home last night because Clemson does not have labor day off (silly school). I mean, that is a downfall of CU. I am just bitter because I would have loved to spend some more time there. So peaceful and relaxing.

A few pictures from our weekend.

i got to wake up to this every morning. this is the view from the kitchen window at A's grandparents house. it's beautiful. see why i still wish i was there?

this was a field of beautiful flowers that we found driving to town. I mean an entire field of flowers outside your door? little things like this remind me of God's beauty.

this picture was actually taken today but hey, it's still labor day weekend right? this afternoon, we spent our time playing skip-bo (our favorite), drinking palms slushies and eating boiled peanuts (yummy). a great way to end the weekend if you ask me.

one last thing...make sure you head over to chick-fil-a today. wear your team logo and get yourself a free chicken sandwich! A and I already went for lunch time and are seriously considering going for dinner. I mean it's free!

judge me...i dare you.
